Plein aire painting is the most challenging and fun. Many of my landscapes are painted on sight. Traveling has taken me to many wonderful places and has opened my eyes to many new topics to paint.
“Monterey Bay Cypress” Mitchell’s Cove, Santa Cruz CA. Oil painting on canvas. This cove is a few yards from my house. It’s an iconic local spot that provides solace for both locals and visitors. Dimensions 14″x18″. Completed 2017.
“Peyto Lake and Peak”Banff National Park Canada is a site that changed me forever. I can’t imagine a more beautiful lake in the world. Water the most brilliant shade of turquoise caused by the glazier melting and scraping limestone into the water. Oil painting on canvas 18″ x 24″. Completed 2017.
“View point, Trinity Alps” On the way up to Mt. Shasta there is a place of great beauty forested with the Shasta Fir or Silvertips are a favorite of mine because it reminds me of Christmas. Oil painting on canvas 18 “x 24”. Completed 2017.

“Spirit Island” is located at Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park. It was one of the most breath-taking places I visited. Dimensions: 11″ by 14” oil on canvas painting.
